Juice Cleanse Day 3

Hi Everyone

I wanted to review my last day on the cleanse.  By the end of the day I really wanted a burger. :D  The juices tasted really good but I thought I wanted a big burger. So  I went and had one for dinner.  What I noticed was that during the juice cleanse I had mental clarity and tons of energy.  Once I ate that burger, I was tired and felt mentally fuzzy headed.  I realized that juice did more for me once I ate that burger.

The company Pressed Juicery has a subscription service that I went and tried.  I receive my juices tomorrow.  There will be twelve bottles of juices of my choice.  I can order another 12 this month for a total of 24 each month (They have other subscriptions).   I think juicing is the way to go.  I have purchased these to get me started until I can figure out how to juice on my own.

I purchased Joe Cross Reboot recipe books to help me.  The people who have followed his reboot have had tremendous success and based on only three days, I can see why.  My biggest challenge will be giving up the coffee.  From what I read, coffee is very acidic which promotes weight gain. So, its best that I give it up.  To avoid the headache I am going to switch to green tea and detox over this coming weekend.

Well that is all for today.

Thanks for stopping by.

Marion Smith Garment District Mini Album

Hello Everyone

Today, I finished creating a 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 mini album using the Marion Smith Garment District paper and kit that I purchase from Scrapbook Maven.  I really love the way it turned out. I used all the paper in the kit as well as 12x12 Espresso cardstock by Paper Accents and the 8 /12 by 11 Stampin' Up! Espresso cardstock.

On the cover, I used some of the cutouts of the paper line mounted on foam tape and inked with black soot ink by Ranger.  I also incorporated the measuring trim included in the kit as trim on the edges of the felt spine and covers.  I added a Prima spray and used a Tim Holtz buckle for the closure. I added a Maya Roads scissors to the cover as well.

For the spine, I used some Prima peony spray, worn leather and tea stain along with some color me seam binding from Close To My Heart that I had in my stash.  I cut 3 feet of seam binding for each color, sprayed them and let them dry over night.  I then used a grommet from We R Memory Keepers on the spine and tied the ribbon on.  I added a Prima wooden button along with some black hemp twine to create a faux Buttony Bow. I had some metal filigrees that I added to the felt spine.  I found the embossed felt at Hobby Lobby.

For the inside pages, I used black soot for the inked edges.  I used the flowers from the kit as well as some flowers I had in my stash.  The washy tape is from my stash and I have had it for a while so I am not sure who made it.  I thought it went well with the paper line.  I also used some Prima sprays, some metal hangers that came in the kit as swing tabs and another metal scissor from Maya Roads.

On some of the pages, I used some gold glitter trim on the edges to create a sparkly border.  I used some of the wooden embellishments that came in the kit inked with black soot. I also fussy cut some of the images from the paper and added them to various pages in the mini album.

The video shows all the interaction that is built within the album.  I connected with the paper and really became creative with this album  It reminds me of one of the first albums I made that I gave my Mother-in-law and the creative energy I had put into that one.

Juicing Day 2

Hello Everyone

Yesterday was day 2 of my 3 day juicing.  It went really well.  I noticed that I got used to the juices on the second day and found that I wasn't as hungry.  I have two favorite juices which come in the Cleanse Option 1.  They are the almond milk juices.  One is the Vanilla flavored and the other is the Chocolate flavored.  Surprising, being a chocolate fan, I really liked the vanilla better.

The vanilla has dates, vanilla beans and sea salt which when over ice makes like a milk shake.  It was a filling choice for breakfast.  The second almond milk, the chocolate was used as a snack in the evening.

One thing I noticed is its easier to do the juices on a warm day.  I found that I was chilly at the end of the juicing day.

Well, on for day three!

Thanks so much

Juice Cleanse Day 1

Hello Everyone

I started my first day on the Juice Cleanse from Pressed Juice yesterday.  First, their juices are much better tasting than Urban Remedy and the cost was cheaper as well.  I chose the most popular cleanse, the cleanse 1 option that contains two almond milks, one that is more of a vanilla flavor and the chocolate one. I am a chocolate fan but I actually liked the vanilla flavored one better.

After the fourth bottle though, I was getting tired of the cold juices and really wanted something warm and I live in Arizona.  There is an option of having broth so if that happens again on day two, I am going to drink some.

Well, that is all for day one.  Heading on to day two.

Fat loss start over 😄

Well there have been so many challenges with this weight loss.  Since I have issues with my Thyroid, it makes it all the harder. What I have noticed is that my body doesn't like gluten at all and I find that it makes me feel worse.  I still want to get started juicing and need a starting point.

I found a company that does three day juice cleanse with no cayenne pepper which can be hard on the tummy. The juices are set to be delivered on Wednesday.

From what I have read, a raw food diet is supposed to be 75% raw foods. So fruit in the morning, salads and soups through out the day. Many doctors recommend a diet based on fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds as it is the easiest to digest. With a thyriod issue, red meat, grains, and white sugar only makes it worse.

As for exercise, I am going back to the basics. Walking is easy, I get outside and I can walk for long periods of time. It is low stress an the body and great for the heart. Eventually, I will add some upper body and toning but for now I just want to keep it simple to allow my body to heal itself.

Fat Loss Day 7

Hello Everyone

For the past three days, I have been using the Urban Remedy Detox kit.  My experience on the product was not what I expected.  By the second day I was so very sick.  I didn't want to eat anything.  Come to find out there is a seasoning used in one of the juices that will affect all the acid needed in the belly to digest food.  This had an adverse affect on me and made me very ill.

So my next step is the belly fat diet because I have a lot of stress in my life and this diet is supposed to help with that.  Starting Monday I am on to that one.

I hope you had a great weekend.

Fat Loss Day 4

Hi Everyone

I have been doing research on different things that cause me to gain weight.  I might be an emotional eater but I don't think I eat so much that I would be gaining.  After journaling for three days, I discovered a couple of things.

One, I don't eat enough veggies period.  In my diet they were non-existent. In discovering that I eat like zero veggies, I ran across Joe Cross Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.  Wow!  The one thing that could help me lose weight and be healthy is veggies and fruit. Hmm.  Well, I have decided to keep track of my veggies.  In fact they need to comprise 60% of my diet.

The second thing I noticed was since I started drinking a protein shake each morning my weight had gone up!  What?!  At first I thought is was the milk so  this week I changed it to be Almond Milk.  Then I did research on Whey protein and found that its not actually good for me.  So I gave up the whey protein and started to lose weight again.  I found on Amazon a protein powder that is all natural and doesn't contain soy or whey:

Garden of Life Raw Organic Meal Chocolate , 606 Gram

Finally I discovered I wasn't drinking enough water.  I was getting less that 40 oz of water a day when the minimum is 64oz.  So I increased my water intake and wow what a difference.

Next week I am going to try Urban Remedy, a 3 day program of juicing.  It is organic and has great reviews. At least until I figure out how to juice myself.  I know that I need to eat more fruits and veggies, eat rice and potatoes and fish.  So for the next two weeks I am going to focus on that.

Fat Loss Day One

I thought I would journal my journey to fat loss freedom, a daily progress of my struggles and successes in the quest to lose fat. Writing here holds me accountable because here the light is shining brightly on me. No longer can I hide in the dark with a Hostess HoHo (I loved those growing up) under the illusion no one will know. Funny, everyone knows except me!  They can see the evidence on my body where I stand in the mirror refusing to see the reality I have created.

I went shopping the other day with a friend of mine. I looked at the clothes and refused to buy anything that was a size bigger. Why?  I don't want to spend my hard earned money on clothes that look terrible on me. I want to feel joy while shopping for clothes. Not despair.  I made a promise to myself that I will not buy any clothes in larger sizes.  Nope!  I will save and buy an outfit when I can fit into a smaller size.

I am tired of not feeling well. As I age, things like health care suddenly become important. Have I already decided that the rest of my life will be spent with doctors and the ever popular pill combining method?  Take this for diabetes, this because the last pill cause high blood pressure, another pill because the blood pressure pill causes insomnia.  Now take this one because the sleeping pill cause depression and finally take this pill because the anti depression causes weight gain. Oh, we have to up the diabetes mess because of the extra weight. Seriously?  I don't want my life spent that way.

I have a swollen thyroid. It's called a goiter but that is an ugly name.  Meds and surgery because my body is attacking itself. No, no, no...  My body can heal itself if I quit giving it poison. This issue is that my body can't keep up with all the poison I ingest. My outward appearance is a direct result of what is happening on the inside.  It's telling me I've got to make a change. My body is letting me know I can't keep abusing it any more. So I am listening and taking a stand to support my life.

I watched Joe Cross, Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.  There was a couple who, since we are on this Earth for a short time, was going to live it to the fullest by eating Fried Chicken and gravy. I thought about that. Life to the fullest to me is visiting places I've never been and meeting new people. I don't want to be confined because of my weight.

Starting today, I am changing the way I look at food and how it makes me feel. Food is there to give my body strength so I can follow my dreams. It's not supposed to be my dreams. First, step is writing down everything I eat for the next three days and to drink 8 glasses of water.

Until tomorrow

Bo Bunny Time

Hi Everyone

Today I wanted to share a layout I created for a friend of mine.  I found an old faded picture in an attic of her mom, herself and her son  and was inspired to create this layout.

I used a die cut clock and inked it with vintage photo to enhance the photo.  I added Close to My Heart edge corner metal pieces along the edges of the photo.

There are some Dusty Attic pieces added to the layout one being a key with some flat back pearls and the other being a time piece.  I thought it was fitting for the pocket watch as the photo had been aged and there was an old car in the back ground
I inked the edges of the paper with a matching blue ink then inked the edge with vintage photo.  Along the upper left corner, I cut out a butterfly and placed it in the corner.  I had rolled down some of the paper to show the base page and added a rustic brad to hold the fold down

Finally, I added some flowers to the right corner underneath the key

Well that will do for now.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Mixed media canvas with Tim Holtz Walflower Paper

Hello Everyone,

Today, I wanted to share a mixed media canvas I created using some of the papers from Tim Holtz Walflower   collection.

I used some of the extra paper I had and modge podged it onto the canvas.  I used some crafter work shop stencils and a Tim Holtz coffee stain stencil with some homemade texture paste to the canvas.

I used some Prima Color Bloom spray in tea stain along with Lindy Stamp Gang in gold.  I also used guesso to high light some of the stencils.

I used a Prima frame and added some rub in buff to the edges.  Then I added the bird paper to the back and left a torn edge.  I inked the edges with black soot.  I used some petaloo flowers below and a wooden butterfly from Prima.
I added some rose buds from my stash.
To compliment the color of the birds

It only took me a couple of hours to make using a heat gun to dry everything.

I used cardstock and one piece of pattern paper to create the card.  The bird was stamped in multiple colors of ink.  I used vintage photo around the bird to give a warm color.

I like this type of card.  Its a simple card but has a nice affect.

Basic Grey Altered Album with Maja Design Papers

Hi Everyone

Today, I wanted to share a little mini album I did using the Basic Grey Chipboard Album and Maja Design papers along with Prima Chipboard and flowers and inking.

I altered some of the pages creating pockets and flaps.  I have double inked with a complimentary color then with Frayed burlap.  I used several punches and embellishments to finish the look.

I used faux suede paper for the binding with some Prima chipboard and flowers. I added lace trim along with some bling ribbon.

On the inside cover I created to pockets to hold tags and photo mats.

I created flaps with magnets and used the chipboard pieces as pockets to hold tags

I have inked the edges with a ink color that complimented the paper then I inked the edges with Frayed Burlap.

I used some of the tags and flowers as embellishment's

On the final pages, I added two pocket flaps on the left side and on the back inside cover I created two pockets and a pull down flap.

I am not really a Kraft color fan.  Reminds me of my days when I was a kid and I had to pack my lunch in those lunch sacks. LOL

I am happy with the way it turned out.  Now on to another project.  :D
