Canvas wall hangings

Hi Everyone

Today, I wanted to share a birthday gift I am giving to a friend.  I have never created anything on canvas but I had seen several videos on YouTube on canvas art and Michaels had a sale so I thought I would give it a try.

I painted each canvas with acrylic gray paint along the edges.  Then I added pattern paper with modge poge to keep it adhered to the canvas.  I used some Prima stamps and Memento tuxedo ink and did some random stamping.  I also used a Tim Holtz stencil and texture paste to place some time pieces randomly on the paper.

On the first canvas, I wove some rose buds along a lattice that I painted first in red acrylic paint, then crackle paint then in gray paint.  I added a fountain with an angel in the center and two little bees at the bottom.  I added two angles on top as well.  Along the left side is a red vine with a large flower at the bottom.  I added a wooden scissor to the top.

On the second canvas I added a little ticket to the right corner and added a wooden scissor on top.  At the lower right is some Prima flowers and a wooden butterfly.  On the upper left are two little angels. Below them is a street light and a street sign that reads Memory Lane.  Under that is a little ticket.  In the center is a Prima frame with paper backing and a little angel on top.

It was fun to create!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments and Blue Fern Studio 8x8 Mini Album

Hi All

For this post, I created an 8x8 Mini Album using the Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments and Blue Fern Studio paper along with black cardstock.  I wanted to create something special for my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day.

For the cover, I used the signature sheet and stitched around the edges.  I don’t know how to sew so this was my first time trying.  Open-mouthed smile I added glossy accents to the hearts and butterflies.  I added flowers and flat back pearls.  On the binding, I added black lace and pearl lace.

I created some charms for the spine. A bird cage, birds nest and some other charms .  I added a felt butterfly to the top.

On the inside cover, I used a die cut and a little book with a velcro closure.  There is a chipboard piece as the swing tab that opens up to two photo mats

On the first page is a pocket with some tags and a chipboard piece with some roses and some lace.  The flap opens to two photo mats

The second page has a flap that opens to a photo mat and then lifts up to another photo map.  I have embellished it with a pocket and tag, a chipboard piece and some ribbon.  I used a Tim Holtz on the edge die.

The third page I used a Spellbinders on the edge die and a chipboard swing tab along with some chipboard embellishments and a charm

Inside the fourth page.  I used glossy accents on the egg and made a little tag.  There is a photo mat on the side.

The fifth page I used the Spellbinders on the edge die to create the flap.  I used the chipboard piece from G45 and a brad to create the closure.  It opens up to photo mats

On the sixth page, I used a Spellbinders die to create the flap and mounted a chipboard piece on top.  There is a 4x6 photo mat that is secured by a buckle and a chipboard button and a pewter brad

Page 7, I used a postage stamp as a pull tab that opens to two photo mats.  I mounted chipboard piece along with a resin flower.

Page 8, I created a flap and underneath is a pocket that holds a photo mat and some tags.  I added Prima flowers, a metal stem and a postage stamp to  the cover.

Page 9 has the flaps that open to the center.  There are chipboard pieces acting as closures.

The back cover I created a pocket for a photo mat and a tag.  There are tags tucked behind the chipboard embellishment a long with a resin rose and some lace.

And that is the whole mini album.  Thanks for stopping by!
